Introductory Computing

This book is designed to give an introduction to the world of computer science at a simple level. It is intended to give a broad overview of many fundamental concepts. Basic concepts covering hardware and software have been simplified for easy understanding of basic ICT content. General uses of computers have also been covered including social and economic implications of use of computers. The basics of data communication and networking are also covered thereby making this book an essential tool for the study of computing at various levels.

Former Chemistry and Computer Studies teacher and ICT Lecturer at Morgenster Teachers' College. Currently Lecturer in Educational Technology, Curriculum Studies and Computing at Bindura Univesity of Science Education, Zimbabwe.
